Health Care

There are 2 countries in the world in which subjects have had their right to buy private health care, or insurance, legislated away by the state: North Korea and Canada (Cuba and Albania used to also belong to this list but even Castro has changed).

Newly-elected Prime Minister Martin is scheduled to debate on television with our Premiers the virtues of the Canada Health Act, an Act he supposedly supports concerning a department that he doesn’t even control: Health Care. He will champion a cause out of which he ripped the very foundations of capital from 1993-1999. Martin will pretend he supports universal health care.

Paul Martin will blackmail the provinces with their own money on the federal conditions he created. Since 1993, Paul Martin developed a multi-tier health system that pits citizen against citizen, government against government, hospital against hospital.

What do pets, police, politicians, and prisoners all have in common? This elite group of “beings”, along with claimants under Workers Compensation, Armed Forces, Veterans and Indian Affairs, and Canadian Visitors, all belong to a segment of society that is automatically and systematically exempt from the Canada Health Act. All are entitled to private health care. All avoid waiting lists. All get better, sooner.

The 2004 federal election marks the third election by the Liberals dedicated to lying to Canadians about the real condition of Canadian Health Care. How many more patients must suffer?
